Mary first experienced the Pilates Method in 1999, after years of practicing traditional strength training and aerobics classes. In 2001, she took Pilates lessons from teachers in studios around the country and was accepted into the New York Studios training program. Mary spent a decade in training and certification under Romana Kryzanowska, credited with preserving the original work of Joseph Pilates. Mary continued her studies in 2009, attending conferences, and expanding her studies with, Jay Grimes, Mari Winsor, and Chris Robinson. In 2014 Mary attended and completed a year-long Professional Advanced Teacher Training program under the direction of Kathi Ross-Nash. She continues to maintain her certification status with the Pilates Method Alliance and The National Pilates Certification Program. In her spare time, she has earned certifications RYT200-Yoga Alliance, Beyond Barre, Zumba, and in the process of completing Pilates 34 in 34™.
Mary initially taught Pilates in the Wellness Department at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. By May 2012 she transformed her Pilates business from a home studio into a retail location in Lake St. Louis. She’s brought in several other teachers, and she is happy to teach alongside them at Evolve Pilates 365 in Lake St. Louis.
Mary uses the Pilates Method to keep herself and her clients happy, healthy, and strong. She believes Pilates is a Corrective method that allows her clients to build proper movement patterns and to develop a deeper mind-body connection useful in their daily lives so they may enjoy God’s blessings of health and happiness.
